Greetings all!

I need some help here as a few of you members know more about these than I. This is for sale close to me and if the pictures match the bike it seems like a pretty good deal.

I know little about BMW motorcycles but a 2016 project is being considered. Also know where a R90S that "might" be available but at a much greater cost. (naturally)

Thanks in advance for any do's, don't, run away thoughts.

It's an "RS" model for starters. The fuller fairing is the difference between the S and RS. $1500 is super cheap for a bike of that vintage in good shape. Few problem places to investigate: where speedo cable enters the trans cover on top, right side, behind the motor. These seals tended to dry out and leak water into the trans.

Common issues, but not problematic are the push rod tube seals where the exit the head and enter the crankcase. Seeping/weeping oil is not a major issue.

From that single picture, I'd buy it a heartbeat! You could likely flip it for around $3500 depending upon condition and market.

Been sitting, needs work but all the parts are already bought. Original owner bike.

It doesn't have the pannier mounting hardware installed, so I'd doubt it. But they are readily available in ebay

That's an original RS, worth much more money. Considered their premium airhead model. Smoke grey paint is not my preferred color, but I've seen a local fully restore one that's pretty darn gorgeous. Guy spent over $11k for a nut and bolt full restore.

Yup. Belongs to the guy who bought my CBX. Going to contact him after first of year.

I think he told me 10K on the clock. I did check prices and WOW, I was stunned to say the least.

Personally, the R100 is the bike I'd buyout those 2. It would be a great compliment to your MVA  :) add some hard bags, and cross country 2-up touring or monoposto canyon riding is at your finger tips!

OK, working on looking at the bike. No reply, will see.

Looking at the pictures a few things seem odd. Appears to have Missiori plates. Defiantly not Vegas landscape. Rear rotor looks bad. Email reply appeared to be a copy and paste thing.

Will see where this goes. Could very well be a scam.

The thing is I'm selling this bike because my husband passed away not long ago (he was very sick) and this bike brings me bad memories and I really have no use for it and that's the reason why I want to sell it asap...I along with my daughter decided to sell the house and we moved to my parents in Oskaloosa, Iowa trying to start a new life. The bike is already at the shipping company in the container, sealed and ready for delivery. Is there already because someone agreed to buy it, but in the end he never got the loan. For this reason, the shipping is already paid.

When seems to good to be true tt it usually is.

Several years ago I ran across really nice CB750 at a very low price. Curious but cautious I contacted the seller by email. Shortly after I got a email back from the so called seller that was very similar to the one you just got back about the BMW.
I played along with the scumbag for a while and I guess he figured out what I was doing and stopped replying back to me.

Out of my budget I'm afraid.

Converted to propane?   Really?        I've never heard of a motorcycle being converted to propane.
Why would anyone do that?

NO MUFFLERS OR SWITCH. I HAVE A PROPANE CONVERSION THAT FITS IT WITH A TEARDROP TRAILER.  I DO HAVE ALL THE CABLES IN WORKING CONDITION

Pass. The R65 was woefully under-performing. The LS model is somewhat of a cult classic and better, but the stock 65 like you cited is mostly considered a "ladies" bike or an "in-towner".
