Go pro thread?
« on: December 26, 2015, 04:35:05 PM »
I got a Go Pro Hero for Christmas, in addition to the RePlay camera I already have. I checked the existing thread on the tech page but I thought the open forum will be a better place for one.

Any tips for mounting and using one from the pro's already going? I got a roll bar mount with it but I think NHRA requires a metal one. Not sure if the plastic one will work on a Honda. Do you download the files somewhere or just buy a lot of chips?

My first one racecar wise is to record the rear suspension of the dragster, The replay is smaller and easier to hide but has no screen to check or aim with.

Here's one from the replay showing off our competitor a couple years ago. we get a one second head start. And win.  The next video we give up a second on the start against a corvette roadster.

How about a hard case for them? Anyone find a good one?

Not sure if about the NHRA rules for mounts, but you can easily download the data to your computer with the included usb cable.  You can also use SD card reader, but make sure it has a micro sd slot or adapter.  Also make sure it has a usb cable as it would be a pain hunching over the computer to fiddle with something plugs in directly to the back of the computer.  Many have usb in the front, but not all computers do.

I wish there was a site dedicated to gopro and other action cam mounts and accessories.
