350F Carb Question - Main Jet Holders
« on: December 28, 2015, 10:22:31 PM »
So in process of tearing down the carbs on my new 73 CB350F. Someone else has been in these carbs and the main jet holders are missing. Question is - are they really needed? Shouldn't the friction from a new o-ring be enough to hold the main jet in place, or do the holders serve some other purpose i'm not aware of?

Thanks in advance for thoughts/input.

Yes they are needed.  Otherwise they will vibrate out.  Don't buy the ones in that picture, they come from one fabricator and they suck.  There is a reason why they are pictured from that angle and it does not show the 90 degree bend--they are cracked cause they are from the wrong material.  I make the best reproduction and they are light years better.  PM me if you want a set, mine are pictured on top, the bottom are several sets that I purchased like the one you pictured, they were all cracked.  I sell the set for $27.50 shipped.

The pic was stoeln from 4into1.com - but i can see where they may crack if they got the bend radius wrong on their die.

I'll pic up your set - PM has been sent.

Thanks.

There isn't really a die for that bend, it's just done on a brake, the problem is the alloy.  The stainless they use can't make that bend without cracking.
