Back on the road!
« on: November 06, 2006, 12:42:35 PM »
I had a few months where my CB550 was stuck in the garage, due to a starter switch that preferred to smoke instead of work. Sent it away to get fixed, and it came back in the same condition. The problem turned out to be when I switched to drag bars, I must've bent a wire just right that it was resting on a soldered bit of another wire. I also lost the spring behind the starter button. One tiny piece of electrical tape, and 1/2 a spring from a clicky pen... and it's back in action!

Here's a pic from my shakedown run yesterday.

I need to make a few adjustments and get a bar end mirror. I tried the mirror under the bar thing and it just doesn't work. Looks decent, but works terribly.

I'm just happy to be riding again, even if it is just for a few more days till winter is here in MN.

Electrical problems suck!  ;D

Still, there's something great about riding a 30 year old bike that you can't get from modern machinery.

Then again its an entirely different feeling all together to just be riding something that is older then all the zoom splats on the roads nowadays.
