Sprocket setup for a k2 and k3
« on: January 02, 2016, 07:09:42 AM »
What is the stock teeth count on a k2 and a k3?  Is it 17 or 18? I can't seem to figure it out

ok thanks guys, appreciate it.

Would you recommend a 17 toothed one?  I'm not going for performance or anything, just want it pretty stock.

17 tooth spins the engine a little faster, and the bike will pull redline in 5th gear. Better perf. during stop and go, aropund town.
18 slows engine rpm and is best for highway driving and possibly fuel economy. Not a big difference, but one you will notice.
My bike is a little smoother at hiway speeds with the 17. The mirrors don't fuzz as much, and like mentioned, it accelerates a bit quicker, but at the expense of top speed.

EDIT..my bike is totally stock. Cammed/modified engines may act differently with either sprocket.

I run a 18 - 44 set up on mine which is 2.44 ratio which is perfect for the style of riding I do.  '75 CB750 hard tail so the fewer the vibrations the better.

One tooth change in the smaller sprocket is approximately equal to 3 tooth change in the rear.

18-44? :o :o :o :P...I am guessing your motor makes a bit more low end torque than stock...either that or you have peddles to get going at stop lights
If it works good, it looks good...

850 pistons, done by Ken at CycleX, it's a Street fighter motor.
