K7 exhaust fitment on a K1 750?

I've been eye-balling a stock 4 into 4 exhaust from a '77 model to fit on my earlier '70.  Spigots and rear foot pegs I know are different.  But what other fitment issues would I have?  I've had a K8 and recall the swingarm is longer, but that the frame is basically the same? 
It is a proven fact that modifying a SOHC Honda in any way will bring on the apocalypse.

Footpeg mounts are different, and maybe be different location fore or aft...

seems like this is pretty undocumented...spigots issue is easily swapped out I think, and passenger foot peg mount issue seems like it would be junior high level fabrication...as long as there are no serious CLUNKS

I should try this as I have K7/8 pipes and a K4 engine and frame sitting there waiting for love

but I am just not motivated, as those K7/8 pipes are kinda uggy, and weigh even more than the 300's/341's
If it works good, it looks good...

Lots of things on K7/K8 were heavier.. I dont know if you can get the baffles out, easily on them.

I think it would take some serious hackery...I'd rather be fast and quiet than fast and loud...cops and #$%*, you know...not much fast of any kind is going on with those pipes anyway

I think they have them plates between pipes and peg mount... May be easy to sort out..

Thanks guys! 

A set of HM300's would be tits but at $1600 plus another $300 for heat shields and rubber connectors and knick knacks, I'll go with the heavy ugly.  The bike is a bit of a hooligan now with a big cam, 836, and port work. The 4 into 1 is nasty loud and often scares old ladies and children.  This winter I'm going to chill her out with a set of 1st over jugs, smaller cam, and quiet exhaust.  Damn I'm getting old.

Jr High Fabrication is about my level so I could probably pull it off.  I just didn't want to be in the business of major modifications.

Nikki, I mocked 'em up on a K4 today.  They should work fine but really look wrong, imo, as the k7/8 bikes have a longer wheelbase, so you kinda end up with this crazy batmobile look with 4 BIG ole megas sticking out the back pretty far.
     You will have to remove your stock spigots and will need the K7/8 collars and split collars plus studs instead of the pan head screws that your spigots use.  Head pipes fit the frame just fine and no interference with rider pegs or brake pedal.  Of course you will have to make or modify brackets to attach at the passenger peg.  I will try to get some pics up sometime soon.
If it works good, it looks good...

Id rather not have a goofy looking setup, so I may settle for a quieter 4 into 1.  I've had and liked Kerkers in the past and see they are still available.  Are they the same decent quality they used to be?

I recall the HM300's being $1200 all in. But then I recall used Japanese bikes selling for $1 per cc so there goes my paradigm shifting again!

Haha!  Great minds and all that Stev-o - I found that last night while researching options.  That price is ridiculous cheap for a stainless exhaust.  Reviews from other SOHC members are positive, and it seems it would have a nice mellow tone.  Probably the winner for me, until my rich uncle kicks the bucket and money grow on trees.

Agreed.  It almost fits into that "if it seems too good to be true.." saying, but reviews are very good.

I may buy one too once my exhaust supply runs out.

On a stock bike, I agree with you.  On a cafe'd style bike, 4-1 is best.

I will say this though:  on my K8, the single most comments I get from people are, "I've never seen four separate pipes like that.  That looks awesome."

agreed.  Unfortunately, K8 pipes on a K6 or earlier bike look ridiculous.

I dont care for the K7-8 pipes at all, they look nice but the sound has "no balls".

I had a beautiful all original K8 in great cond, that I bought for a song. The exhaust was the one thing I did not like about it and was not about to mod that particular bike.
Sold it.

HM300 replica sounds nice on my bike with mod engine. I guess same sound as the old HM300. No baffles that restrict the engine.
I had a 4-1 for a K7 for many years ago. Removed spigots, used K7 ex clamps, bolts. Rear mount needed to have a bracket that raised the mount about 4". Ok with the 4-1, 4-4 must be too much problems. The Hm300-341 exhausts have a perfect fit, maybe the later K7 have the same and problems with fitment on an older frame.

My rear bolts holding 2 pipes and footpeg on each side have tight fit.

Go for a HM300 set
