Pretty sure I read somewhere the stock chains are above 15,000kN, but their pins are small and they stretch a lot.
Also pretty sure that ONLY the G68HPF-2 chain is better than stock.

15kn is probably ultimate tenisal strength(breaking point of chain). 13kn is yeald strength(maximum force before chain starts to plasticly deform). So 13kn is a maximum force. If chan goes over 13kn it will become unusable...By my calculations g67 is ~9℅ weaker then g68... But surtenly strong as OEM chain. Measure tensioner at the beginning and after 5000km.

I don't know if this problem has raised it ugly head and I don't have the time over here to read through all this thread but when reading the last couple of postings, I notice the name Iwis crop up.
The chains that I used to get off Alan the chain man were marked Jwis and were made in Germany.
I seem to remember contacting Alan regarding primary chains for high performance use and I'm sure he said he could supply primary chains for competition use in the CB750 but they weren't the Jwis chains that I used on my other bikes so I'm not a lot of help on that but just in case you're wondering, Iwis and Jwis are the same company so don't be put off by the slight difference in the name.
Sorry I couldn't remember this earlier when we were speaking Rafi but that's just my head problem, sorry mate.

No worries at all Sam, and thanks for the reply. At least we know someone has actually run similar chains before. I think I've bothered enough people (outside these forums too!) to remove any hesitation that the G67 will be sub par. Just for added peace of mind, I'm going to have all the chains cryo'd along with the trans. and shift forks+drum etc.

Found BMW 530 1998 68 link chain in the Iwis catalog searched on the G67HP-6 and 50035085 and got 11.31.2.248.729
Then searched and found a dealer here that have them for special price. Probably as the German car part dealers that often have better price.

I'll check chain on a spare crank, prim hub in a spare case. Compare lenght with my old Honda chains that I measured 67.5mm before replacement. My CCC chain had slightly less than 65mm slack when just installed.

I'l put the cases together today with my CCC chains , no real test of new chains that will arrive in a few days.

As a matter of interest my Moto Guzzis use a D67 as a cam chain. This is a duplex-chain version with the same major dimensions and 74 pitches.

The chains I got do not look stronger than stock  ;) They were rather cheap and well worth to test buy.
Here the new BMW chains vs stock that had around 67.5mm in slack when removed and replaced by CCC HD chains. The BMW chains were delayed so I could not line them up with the CCC chains. Had to finish the build.
Edit: Added photo of engine build with CCC HD chains. The smaller chain is cam chain
The inner links of CCC chain look beefier than the outer. If inner should be like outer, the chain might be as the BMW cam chain compared with stock

Read the thread cerfully. Those chains are stronger then stock.

If you wanted stronger one you should have brought g68hpf. They are 39eu. And those are HD/CCC chains. And they cost 80eu for pair if you shorten them by yourself.

Look my last post. Those are HD chains. Payed them 80eu for pair and 5eu for shortening. And I can bet that people who are asking for triple of price are making them in sam way. And they for sure have a big discount on quantity...

Nevertheless BMW chains are stronger then stock. If you read cerfully you will find out why ;)

The stock ones look bulkier and stronger, and even have high tensile strength than the IWIS ones but they use smaller pins and stretch ridiculously fast. Chains shouldn't break, they should wear, and the IWIS ones will definitely wear a lot better. If chains are breaking, then something else is wrong and needs fixing. The G67 is plenty strong, and if you REALLY want to match it up to the G68, then cryo treat it. According to what I read around here, the treatment makes parts stronger by a decent amount and will match up to the numbers of the G68. Cryo treating the G68 will make that already crazy chain even stronger ;D Just wish I could find a closed chain with 68 links...

The  BMW cam chain with holes. Rollers are fixed, not possible to move. That's why all aim in same direction

I just ordered the SWAG 30 93 9962 chains for my cb turbo..
The current chains already had 72.000km on them before going turbo and they are noisy as hell lol! Sounds like a coffee grinding machine xD.

I want to adjust the squish ratio of the head anyways, so I might as well do a full rebuild and fix some oil leaks while I'm at it.
