I was referring to the F2 model that had 4 into 1. Honda made for weight purposes. But I guess there is no much difference as it is steel vs steel. The difference might come from the collars, stock are quite heavy, around 4 to 5 lbs

Not sure of the Delkevic weight. It's mounted. My original 75 stock F 4 into 1 is in the basement at home. I can weigh it Friday at the soonest when back at home. Quite a bit lighter though.

Anyone have a Delkevic they can weigh?

CB, only problem is they manufacture in England but they do ship containers of bikes and parts from the US.
Looks great, thx for the write up Jerry.   It's amazing they can sell it for that price.

Direct from the manufacturer sales. No middleman costs. No welding of pipes to collector. Simple system to produce.

These are made in China for Delkevic if you believe the internets and if that makes a difference to you. Seems like 90% of our products are made there now anyway. I try to buy Made In The USA but it's getting harder and harder to find AND justify the cost difference.

Is the 1.5mm wall thickness pretty much standard for pipes or are some 2mm?

Cheers,
Kenzo

So is it England or China ? ???

I like that it comes apart, my dragster has the springs in the collectors, We had to install tethers for safety because one or two came apart. These are much lighter and should be fine. The stainless on my headers got a gold/bronze tint as they were used. It will rub off with some polish and fine scotchbrite but I like the color.

Why did you choose to go for the delkevic exhaust instead of the stock one ? is the delkevic much better ?

Hey Guys, I have a Delkevic full system (headers, collector, & muffler) that I can weigh up. I'll post the results as soon as I Do, I can almost guarantee it's quite a bit lighter than the stock 4-1 off the F models but we'll see. If anyone has any questions about it let me know. Jerry put me on to them and i'm glad he did, the quality (and Price) is awesome for the same price (about) as a Mac that will rust.....

I've never had a mac myself but i've heard that after a while they tend to rust....Plus the customer support at Delkevic was super helpful with photos and everything to make sure I got the one that I needed for the later Head (mine is a 78K) but I also have a 78 F SS . Anyone with questions feel free to ask. I'll try to get that weighed up asap.

Take it easy fellas

Ericcb750 why did ou go for the delkevic instead of the stock F exhaust ? is the sound or performance better ? I'm willing to buy a new exhaust but don't know if I should look for a used F model that can still be in a good shape, or let it go and choose a brand new delkevic exhaust.

A stock F model exhaust is heavy, typically very rusty, and when nice enough to use, very expensive. Your best bet is an aftermarket piece.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

I'm not quite sure about the difference in weight of delkevic vs stock. There both made from steel, don't see how the stock can be much lighter..

I have the F model 4-1 with a Quiet-er core muffler from Cone Eng. on my 78K.... Mainly for the sound as the stock 4-4 was pretty quiet.... I am keeping it in case I want to put it back to stock. I bought the Delkevic to use on my 78F since it was missing the stock muffler when I bought it and the stock header is in pretty rough shape. I guess I like to have some options.

I can tell you that the stock 78F model mufflers In good use-able condition have been next to impossible for me to find. I have asked around a bit here and there and have come up empty..... Mac Makes a muffler that looks pretty similar and bolts right up to the stock F 4-1 header but it's not the original....

I'm sure the Delkevic sounds better, has a removeable baffle in it and you can choose between a couple different muffler designs for it....and it's stainless.  I hope this helps a bit, let me know if you have any questions.

Trust us, it's significantly lighter. The stock header walls are probably twice as thick plus the design of the collector seems to have a lot of steel wrapping around it on the stock header.

well, I called delkevic, collector alone without the muffler is around 10 lbs and just went to a friend place where we have weighted the stock collector without the collars: 11 lbs, with the collars, 15 lbs. I'm more willing to go for a stock header, i guess i should look for lighter collars to reduce the weight difference

how does this header weight compares to the stock 4 into 1 of the CB 750 ?is there a big difference in weight ? thanks

There is NO stock 4-1 for the CB750.  The stock headers are 4-4.

Hey Don... the F model had a 4 into 1 stock....

Jerry may know the weight difference, I'm guessing the Delkevic is lighter.

Truth be told, I DO own a 1975 CB550F, but not a 750F.  I don't know why my brain momentarily thought the 750 did NOT have the 4-1.  Oh well.  I must be aging.

I's been waiting a long while but I'm researching some of the major components I'll need to finish my 750K3, I'm leaning toward the later style (no spigots) Delkevic pipe just to eliminate a few of the parts that Honda eventually eliminated... This will obviously mount up to the head just fine after I've installed studs, but will it fit the early frame just as well? Passenger peg mount is located in exactly the same spot?
No other concerns I haven't thought of? Are Stainless Studs available somewhere?

Thanks Gents, it's good to be back.

I got one a couple weeks ago.  Had to go out of town so there are only 100 miles on it so far.  The headers have a nice (?) kind of burnished look.  Plug chop reveals very slightly rich if anything compared to Carpy's wide open 4-1 that was on prior... Which is odd since the color makes me think heat which makes me think : lean.    I like being able to access the oil filter.  I don't think one can consider this a "performance" pipe in that the header lengths are all different. And being your muscles when it's time to put those springs on... They are STRONG!  I need to clean up the extra pipe sealing goop that spooged out (they give you a tube).  Too bad it isn't silver - it would be less of a pain to deal with ...
I recently restored and sold a 77 cb750f, and am nearly finished with a (former basket case) cb750k5.  This is a place to share, learn and enjoy.  I am grateful to and for 99+% of this site's membership.
