DELKEVIC EXHAUST NOW AVAILABLE FOR ALL THE LATE MODEL HEADS
« on: January 05, 2016, 10:10:20 AM »
I should be receiving, if all goes as planned, the first new Delkevic pipe for my 1975 CB750F. Just don't know when but I hope it's SOON because I want to fire up the new bike ASAP. I was informed today that 'a Canadian' also should be receiving one. Is that one of you?

I do not have any details, just the carrot dangling in front of my nose. The only thing alluded to is it will bolt up to the late model stud heads and should fit the 75 - 78 F, 77 - 78 K and the A. That and they are being built in England and not up the road from me in their Englewood, Colorado US address.

I do not have a direct email or name as I have been communicating through EBay. If anyone else is interested I suggest to do the same and make sure this is successful for them since they wish to take care of our needs.

I've had another customer from Canada after it as well so I've emailed the factory again and told them to get it to me ASAP.
Kind Regards!

You didn't tell them that any 750 header will fit any 750 bike?...just add or subtract spigots as needed?

Yes it is. Just got off the phone with Janielle and got the scoop. It is the system they have listed for the 79 - 83 CB750F. Their model designation COM270X. Notice the attachment to the head which is the difference.

http://delkevic.us/index.php?route=product/product&path=1_1916_2168&product_id=28386&Title=+Full+System+to+fit+CB750F+Super+Sport+%281979-1983%29+with+Delkevic+Classic+Drag+Style+Muffler+and+Stainless+Steel+4-1+Headers&SKU=COM270X

As some of you guys know the Vance and Hines pipe for the same model is being used on our bikes currently. That is a one piece unit and is a little tough to get in place from what I hear. The Delkevic is 'pieced' together so it should be easier to install.

Still early to tell but I'll know Monday when mine arrives.  ;D I'm just getting the header by itself. She is not sure about the complete system with a tail piece as far as fitment of the muffler concerning it's attachment. The separate mount you see pictured may have to be changed. I was told that they will have another 'muffler' option later this month.

$237.95 SHIPPED for the header. The collector has an OD of 63.5mm/2.5" so there should be plenty of muffler options. This is the same size OD as the stock collector. Plus it looks like the 'gaskets' come with the kit also. That's worth another $20 or so. Who else provides those?!

Looking at the picture all I could think was "Wow, that's a mighty low collector!". Hope you have good roads and stiff shocks.

Thats just the picture, I've seen lower collectors on aftermarket pipes, Look at how close it hugs the bottom of the engine, its fine.... ;)

I'm glad you didn't buy the muffler Jerry, I thought about buying a Delkevic pipe for my K1 but I couldn't get over how ugly that fcuking muffler is, I'm sure it's well made, but what an ugly POS, it almost makes the OEM F muffler look attractive! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yep, the muffler sucks, A 12 inch cone engineering muffler would be a better alternative

Agreed and agreed but I'm awaiting their new muffler too. Something said about 'straight'. The existing one is too long IMO.

This fits the 75/76 F, 77/78 F, 77/78 K, the A. It is the one they developed for the DOHC F and due to the nature of it's construction it fits OUR SOHC4's  :) ;) :D ;D

First impression: Polished stainless shine not flat. Looks kinda chrome but not as much as my Kerker. I'm sure you could polish it to a higher shine if you wanted to. LIGHT WEIGHT.

Second impression: Damn thing was put together in 10 minutes!! EASY! Took as long to unpack/unwrap it. Each pipe and each collector hole is numbered. The springs come with a tool that makes it really easy to install each pipe into the collector.  :)

Third impression: Delkevic weight 9.6lb. Stock weight with the collars 17lb. Collars are not needed or so I think so far.

Fourth impression: WOW!! Installed just as quickly as putting it together. Totally amazed SO FAR.

I do not have their muffler yet. A new style is due later this month. I test fitted my Mac chrome muffler but don't like it due to the collector angles differing. My stock muffler would fit BUT I ain't going there  ;) ::) :o The collector OD's are the same 2.5".

Sure looking forward to firing up this big bad ass #$%*!!  ;D ;D ;D

As it arrived

Unpacked

Test fit

Test install

With all this being said, I gotta take it off to install the oil pump now. I thought it may have the 4 exhaust gaskets but it does not. It did come with the muffler mounting hardware though I didn't get their original longish muffler. Oh, you can do oil filter changes too.

Looks great. U gotta post a sound bite when you get to firing it up!  8)
The site is a little confusing as their total includes the muffler.  What was the total for the header and collector?

I'm trying to figure out if that can be run as a system on its own (like a yoshi system), or if it has to have a muffler.

You didn't see no steenkin muffler on mine did ya?  ;D Get some ear plugs. Yer neighbors will love it  ;D I've run the stock system without a muffler. Sounds wicked  ;)

Not sure when I'll fire mine but I'll post it WITHOUT a muffler. May even slip on the Mac and the stock for #$%*s and grins.

Unless im missing something, that one lists a different product code from what Jerry posted above, and its also for the earlier K bikes.
