Out with the old..





In with the new!  IRC GS-11.  I picked because I really wanted to maintain the vintage tread pattern.  I think these GS-11's do great without looking too big.  Very happy so far!  The tires on there now are the original from 1973....very neat and still full of tread, but petrified.  Feels like riding on a sheet of ice!  Should have these mounted by Monday.

These things look SWEET! 

Just need to torque rear axle nut, don't have a 22mm socket handy so that is on order.  Plug caps tomorrow AM and we are good to go for a test drive.  Then back in to knock a mm off the float height and install the tank crossflow quick disconnect.  Looking forward to it!

Thanks!  P1800 is in deep clean mode...rings arrived a day or two back and now we are in prep mode before the install.  Exciting!

As the for CL, the new plugs went on no problem.  What an easy installation!  A no brainer on every bike, and absolutely a must check item.  First up was to test the new plugs.



Perfect!  Resting figure was closer to 4.7k ohms.  Then trimmed the spark plug wire.  As mentioned I didn't have much wire length to work with, so I was very worried about going too far!



Luckily I didn't have to go very far to reveal good wire core.  Phew!  The new ones twisted right on.

And just like the tires...out with the old,

Based on what we've found on the rest of the bike these plug caps look like they were FACTORY Honda from 1973 ?!



At least that's what the "Hm" looking stamp is telling me.  Neat!  But worthy of a change...

Gave her a kick and she turned right on!  Tomorrow (weather permitting) is the big test drive

Today was an awesome, awesome, AWESOME day!  A friend has been on the hunt for an old time Honda for the past two years.  He wanted The One.  Today we bought this. 









Based on the smile on his face I can tell you we did good! This thing is sweet as can be.  1973 CB350F, untouched and all there.  Talk about motivation to get mine going - this was my first ride on a little Four and it was brilliant.  More to come on this bike and mine.  It could do with a new air filter but other than that is happy as can be.  Picking up early next week.  Woohoo!

          Thank you, for the compliment. The Sl350K0 that I have, is sort of a thing that a close buddy and I have going. To make a long story a bit shorter, my Buddy did some trading with another guy. I don't remember what he swapped off, but he got a near complete SL350K2 (with a perfect set of exhaust pipes/Mufflers on it. So, he finished that one up and it was sharp looking. He also got part of 2 other SL350s (K2 also, I think), along with an SL350K0 that was completely disassembled. And I mean, the seller had even removed the spokes from the wheels! So, after my buddy did the 1st SL350K2, He found out that a guy he knew (who had a used car lot) had taken a '80 CBX (and some cash) in on a trade and my Buddy wanted that CBX and talked the other guy into a deal on the CBX (the guy really wanted the SL350 7 paid some cash on the trade as well. So then, my Buddy and I did some trading around and I ended up with the 3 other SLs (2 K2s that were partials and the K0 that was completely disassembled. Anyway, through some other deals we had, he ended up with the 2 SL350K2 partials and he had gotten the SL350K0 Together as you saw it (Did the assembly, painted the frame, bought the "Reproduction" side covers & had it running). I have to come up with the seat latch, finish the wiring, take care of the seat (foam & cover), Paint the tank, side covers & fenders. I think there is some more, but I don't remember right now. My Buddy and I are as close as Brothers. And we have been through quite a lot together. And, btw, he was the one I got a deal on my CBX from. Sorry about going on, but I have a time trying to tell something, without going over on the wording.

          Thank you, was kinda drawn out.    Whenever I can get onto it, I will post it up.

          Now, I am kind of wishing I had documented progress & photos, from the beginning. But, back then, my Buddy was doing the work on this one and I had been slipping and hadn't been back on here, for quite awhile.
