Hey Retro, sorry I wasn't implying that anyone was emotional about the topic on this forum.....I actually started reading on another forum and the guys over there were dropping F bombs and calling each other offensive names about this topic.

Unlike here where its quite civilized and dignified-ish....

No need to apologize mate, just posting some info for you without the emotion that usually creeps into these threads, usually starts with "its his bike, he can do what ever he wants",   Some think that trumps logic , engineering and physics , I tend to disagree.... ;D ;D ;)

Hey Brent, did you ever consider using ram tubes , with the stock airbox, to build airflow at higher speeds like a lot of modern bikes do ? , I've toyed with this idea for some time now..

Mick, the stock box won't work with my Mic's plus it's is way too small for my liking.

Ram tubes are nearly universal on modern sportbikes into a large airbox with velocity stacks.  I wonder if some form of ram tube or tubes (perhaps on the sides of the airbox) and a larger box would improve performance.

I have to modify the velocity stack area of the box to make it fit the differing carbs/fuel injection i'm using, but you are correct, they are a very small airbox

I thought about going from over the top of the tappet cover, between the carbs down to the filter area of the airbox, trying to keep everything tidy looking or out of sight..... ;)

sorry for necroposting, but amazing amount information in here, i'll be possibly returning to this thread in the future, was sad when the bike was sold though i didn't expect that.

This was my last and final exhaust set up before she sold.  Cone engineering muffle on a ceramic coated Kerker header and I absolutely loved it.

That's encouraging  :). I remember watching a video with one of your other exhausts, but not the cone muffler. I think I'm going to go for it and buy one. I'll be using a Kerker header as well. Thanks, Tweakin :)
