New guy from VAFB, CA
« on: November 07, 2006, 12:14:59 PM »
Just picked up a 75 CB750F last weekend for $800.  Got a really good deal because it looks and runs great.  Haven't owned a Honda since 1990 when I sold my 78 CB750K.  Looking forward to getting back into riding the vintage bikes.  I got a few minor tuning issues before I get back on the road,l plus I want to redo the brakes on the front.  Other than that, I'm about ready to ride it.

BTW, the oil stains didn't come from any of my vehicles.  Though, I think the Honda really, really wants to drop that one drop of oil off of it.

Welcome Paxtonpony.  You did get a good deal.  How about if I take it off your hands for $900?  It would be an instant $100 profit for you. ;)

My little desert streetfighter is a low mile 1992 GS500 with 92 GSXR750 forks and a Honda NT650 SSSA.  Wicked good handling!  Picked it up for $1200 as is, minus the paint job ($12), Vapor dash ($100), headlights ($100) and tailpack ($50).  Will miss the odd looks I get when I sell it.  Noone can ever figure out what the heck it is.  I even had a Buell rider say I had a nice Buell.  LOL!  That was my favorite.

Thanks for the compliments!  I'm really looking forward to finishing up this bike.  The previous owner already did alot of the work.  For me, it's going to mostly consist of finishing up small projects, replacing a few parts and keeping it clean.  I usually ride a few miles a night just because it's such a fun bike.  This weekend I have a ride with a group of friends, really split on what bike to ride.  Think I'll stick with the GS till I've bled some more on my bike.  Seems in good mechanical but I only trust myself when it comes to something on two wheels.
