ARE you hitting them from the neck up, or just making feather puffs

Haven't actually hit a pigeon yet, but I'm sure it would turn an ostrich into a feather puff!

buddy,
 I have shot Grouse with my 7mm;
 I shot them from the neck up.
 Shoulders down still their, and fine to eat.
 I understand that most folks only eat a pigeon if it is called squab, or if they have Chinese in them.
BUT:
 shooting little birds with big guns, and bringing them to camp, with only the head missing will make some of your friends jealousy.
>cool< :)
I shot 3 grouse once with my .40 cal model 27 glock, 2 I took off the head completely. 1 only nicked his neck, and he began to run.
Scotty chased him down!
Scotty caught him in about 2-3" of water. ( we were fishing)
Scotty grabbed his head and spun him.
That separated the head from the rest, we all ate trout and grouse up on the mountain that night :)

we are just up here fishing

we got plenty of fish to eat, no photo of birds cause none of us had a small game license. That the rule only shoot what you can eat?

I say to Scott whats all that noise over their, He said dam grouse! I said REALLY?
I was barefoot had to run all the way to camp to get my pistol barefoot!
