Rear tank rubber
« on: February 07, 2016, 02:11:25 PM »
Would someone be able to show me the proper orientation of the rear tank rubber on a 77/78 cb750 gas tank.   I have a replacement but my tank never had one on so I'm trying to figure it out.   Do the two prongs on the frame just pinch the tank in place where the rubber is mounted?

If you look closely, one side of the rubber has two little slots. These slide over the two flat prongs on the frame. There is really only one way it fits on the bike. The rear lip of the tank slides into the slot that now faces the front of the bike.

Thanks.   Upon further inspection,  the previous owner bent those tabs straight up for some reason.   I have now bent them forward and everything slides in to place as it should.   Thanks!
