Carb Kit - KH-1050 NFR o rings
« on: January 21, 2016, 10:15:50 AM »
Hi Guys,

Can anyone advise what o rings come in these kits?  Here is a link showing the 7 o-rings in the pack but a little unsure where they all go..

4 are the same size and 3 are different sizes.  Plus there are already 3 on the 3 brass jets as you can see from the pic.  Are they just spares?

Cheers
Fod

No link attached.

why are you needing new jets?
are your old ones beyond use?
new jets are more often than not, out of spec, and you will have tuning issues.
Buy kits only with soft parts, and buy original Keihin jets from a reputable seller, if really needed

Where?
Anyway, the smallest goes around the main jet. Then there's one for around the drain plug and one for around the float valve. The four identical are ment for around the T-joint between carb 1&2 and 3&4 respectively. I strongly recommend to forget about the latter. Honda fitted double O-rings at each side and they seldom leak. Mine underwent all the abuse you can think of and still don't leak. So there's no need to separate the carbs from eachother. Some people, inspired by pics in manuals, think it's a good idea to separate the carbs. It isn't.

It's ok - I know from reading here not to use the jets/brass.  I've had my carb bowls off, cleaned the carbs and replaced the old o rings but only counted 3 on the push jet, float value jet and drain plug.  I noticed the picture on ebay showed 7.  The 4 for the T confused me.

Just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed anything before I close them up.
