It's been on my facebook page for over a year. My friend Frank won points at my local track last season with his electric bike. It's not cheap to do. Major components include the battery pack(s)(Lithium Ion 5 pack in the Suzuki bike chassis in the video)
The controller that acts as your throttle. It controls amperage to the motor. The bigger the rating, the more expensive the electronics.
The motor is usually ac surplus. The more brushes the better. Drag racing brushes have been made. They get modified to fit the motor used. It's all a question of transferring the most amps without self destruction.
The chassis is as fancy as your wallet allows. The video is of an old Suzuki chassis with a 6" swingarm extension and the seat dropped 3" from stock. 4" wide slick on stock 18" narrow rim. Direct drive with a rear sprocket near the rim diameter. He runs 6.6's at 112 best from last season.(1/8th mile) No wheelie bars. Air temperature affects battery amperage available. When it gets cold outside, the bike slows down.
It repeats very well. The video sound from the bike is from the chain on the sprockets. The bike can be recharged in under 15 minutes using a good size generator and a converter box. If anyone seriously wants more information, message me and I'll give you Frank's facebook information.
