Brake piston
« on: February 03, 2016, 07:11:59 pm »
So bled my front caliper with a pump. Started to fill lines and again and and good clean fluid coming from nozzle. However, the piston isn't moving and looks cock-eyed. Guessing it's time for a clean and reseal?

Am I on the right track?

Yes.
A new seal, and potentially new pads and caliper piston.
This is one of those parts that helps keep you alive, and should not be done half-@$$ed.

+1 to the above. The crud that is probably in there can corrode and jam everything up. It'll be apparant when you separate the caliper halves.

Yep. It was crud. Got it out. Needs new pads. Piston looks nice. Is the top of piston removable?

My 750k has a dome shape cover that fits into the open end of the piston. My550k has a solid piston with no open end.
