And another reason I don't trust Mech shops:

It's the third time since 2003 that NBC has caught Jiffy Lube in the act. They're still getting the same worn out old line, "We're looking into it."

#$%* like that sickens me. I hope the people responsible are heavily fined, lose their jobs, get 4 flat tires every day for a month,etc.,etc. Its like morons on bikes that do wheelstands on busy streets.....gives bikers a bad rap.

I don't know why they haven't been charged for theft. They also should be sued for breaking a legal-binding contract...

Fraud, Conspiracy to commit fraud, theft, among other charges, should be filed...

The percentage of professionals in any career is small. Most are just doing a 9 to 5 job to collect a paycheck. And the caliber of their works shows just how interested they are. Pride is but a distant memory, expertise - something found in a dictionnary.

There is a vast difference between fitters, mechanics and technicians.
Fitters fit things, neither know or care why it went wrong, just make it fit and make it work
Mechanics repair stuff, understand how it works and can explain what you did to break it
Technicians can make design changes but need an engineer to check its still in design parameters
I still consider myself a mechanic  but I'm probably half way to being a designer tech (only without the training ;D)
new generation wants a title that sounds 'better'
Hey, I was a 'Site Service Engineer' once
They are probably not even up to fitter skill level at MOST tyre shops, something to remember when you get a brake job and tyre rotation
Florida is a right to work state, workers have very little rights here, even if the job kills them (max payout $100,000, you cant sue your employer)
PJ
I fake being smart pretty good
'you can take my word for it or argue until you find out I'm right'
