79 CB650 Update/Help
« on: January 27, 2016, 09:05:02 AM »
Hello everyone,
It has been about 3 months since I have done a post or update on my project. I am back working on it full time at school. I need some help with electrical, and seat. Since I am using clip ons, I replace the OEM fuse box with a new 6 fuse mini box. see images. also I bought a new seat pan but it is little small. I have another seat pan made from OEM seat and part of fuel tank. see images.
I need assistance with how to run the wires and how to mount rectifier, ignition spark units and fuse box under seat. Also the battery box. here are some images, and the 2 seats. I will be cutting out the rear section of bike as shown on 1 of the images

Are you planning on welding it back on to the frame under that tiny seat to provide proper stability?  or a hoop?

Hit the search bar , type in wiring tray, see what others have done. Don't know if there's much on a 650 though , you have ignition boxes ( cdi) , but you should be able to get some ideas.

You could fabricate or buy an electronics tray like those made by Devin at Cognitomoto.  If you go with a deeper tray, you could also mount a smaller Li-On battery in the tray as well as your necessary electronic components.
