Also depends on plug cap. The OEM Honda caps use plugs with the terminal nut removed. If you are using after market coils and plug wires, they usually require the terminal nut in place.

Those things are a pain.  On my Triumph I need them in place but they constantly loosen due to the vibration.  They need a hex cut into them to tighten properly.

None of the NGK's or ND's I purchased over the years came with these terminal nuts.

Yeah, once I'd sourced a serving of them, I have to remove them from the old plugs and install on the new plugs. I have Accel plug caps and wires.

I never knew this, I must be pretty thick in head.

Me either! Not until about a year ago when I was helping a friend with his KZ750. Couldn't figure out why the plug cap wasn't fitting right on the plug. His girlfriend told us there's a screw cap on the end. I didn't ask how she knew that.

That nut was standard on most of the plugs many years ago .

you boys are slow ! they are a throwback to the days before plug caps , the ignition lead had a spade connector on it which fitted on top of the plug then you screwed the metal top on

Rookster , just solder them on

I know what you're saying. But there are semi-modern plug caps that require the nut to be in place.

None of the NGK's or ND's I purchased over the years came with these terminal nuts.

You sure? I have D8EA's on the shelf and the nut screws off.

My RD uses NGK B8HS and I need to take the nut off to fit the stock cap on.
