RIP poor cb's salvage
« on: January 27, 2016, 01:43:07 PM »
thought I found a good deal but look what it turned out to be.
his add says good condition, say's he has papers.
I told him I didn't see anything that I would drive 3.5 hours for to pick up for free.
maybe one of you guys is closer and could score some parts, supper cheep or free.
Better hurry he said he moves Monday 01/27/16. Not sure what he moves other than his buttbutt, by the looks of things if that!

frame in last pic is worth 400ish, see a few more custom frames.
Get serial numbers off motors, may help. Early motor are worth a little bit.

I think that one  most assembled, with honda parts is a 1973.
He said he has papers but he hasn't seen them in awhile, maybe the numbers match that one, frame and engine. Titled in VA last he said
The other title is maybe a 1971, and would only match the engine in the chopper, which was last titled in New Jersey

it would be great to build a 836 with one of those engines

I dont see any plugs in those weathered engines, and I doubt a little black electrical tape kept any moisture out :'(

Frame and engine numbers basically never match.

I talked with him on the phone 2 times. He started sending these photo's, he made it sound like it was so much work to do that. I just told him to stop sending. I said to him that he hasn't shown me anything that I would drive 3 hours for. I'll give him a call and see if he has found the title.

Jeff,I hope that CL seller gives Someone a Deal;that looks like a decent collection of parts that do need much work.

I would bet Mr Dorthy didn't buy it, he doesn't have space to keep his other bike in the barn.
