Whoa... DTT domain problem?
« on: January 30, 2016, 02:01:38 PM »
Anyone else check in to Do the Ton?

Looks like they've got a domain issue -- page now shows an ad for "namecheap" and says the domain name was recently registered there. No content.

Although that place had become kind of overrun by cranks and #$%*s with a good sprinkling of racism here and there, there was some worthwhile content. All gone?

Hmm... I'm on a laptop and it ain't there. Wonder what's up. I honestly have no idea how much DCC gets from DTT in terms of exposure --plenty of people talk #$%* about what DCC sells all the time, sometimes for good reasons -- but I wonder if they've had their domain expire and get nabbed what someone would try to make them pay to get it back.

Or it could be some other kind of glitch, guess I'll wait and see.

I can't imagine Tim letting the domain expire. You get a billion renewal notices.

I feel bad for all the members how are they supposed to connect now?  If Do The Ton had a Facebook group or email list they could keep going during the outage, or while the issue gets resolved.

I've been over there busting chops for that exact reason the last few months. (there may be a couple people here that can attest to that) and I have no mercy when it comes to functionality. Really I can be relentless if they choose to be ignorant. Lots of them seem to be coming around.

Site seems to be up, you're safe, for now.

Poorly built cafes have always been around.. Inexperienced folks want to do what they envy others doing..
That same thing goes on in the chopper world as well..
, i feel to a certain extent, that the experienced..should spread the knowledge around a bit..

Those guys have been getting their ass chewed regularly.

Granted, that's the nature of the business. People see #$%* on Pipeburn, and emulate it. Often making a poor design, poorer.
