How's that not buying thing working out for you? ha,ha

Not too good....I bought a MotoGP pipe and a K1 body set today!

I can see my app is badly needed to help unburden you of all that extra tax refund.  Tell me you went with the candy gold.

I chose "Taking the time to get shipping quotes", I normally dont even do it. I just estimate it and seems I'm almost always wrong - too low.

Oh well, I'm a better buyer than seller!

PS. Have you heard of the selling app 5miles?  Seems similar to what you have in mind.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thirdrock.fivemiles&hl=en

I looked at the 5mileapp.com website and I got to say I am disappointed.  It looks like a poorly done craigslist.  The only really nice feature it has is the how easy it is to upload photos and put  price on them.  Looks like you only get one pic to boot.

I would like something like this, but tailored just to vintagemotorcyle parts.  I wish the site mod would have an app for SOHC4.net that would allow us to tap, tap, and done.

Forums are great for connecting, but it is hard to keep track of all the communications details if selling a lot.  I think an app would be great for that.

So I am thinking of an uploader app that would allow you to quickly and easily snap some pictures, add short text, a price then upload to a variety of sites including sohc4.net, Ebay, Amazon, your website, or shopify etc..

The goal of the uploader app is to allow sellers to batch process a bunch of parts easily and quickly.  Currently there are no real good solutions that allow sellers to batch out parts.

I am also considering a full featured companion site that would allow you as the seller to manage all your sales, and build list basically anything a seller could hope for all in one place.  Need a ship label no problem hit a button.

Here is a link to the mockup https://ninjamock.com/s/166ZS  Let me know what you guys think.

Just a random thought.  Is there a SOHC4.net swap meet calendar?  That would eliminate the  whole packing and shipping thing and it would be fun to see other members.  Just an idea.

That is a great idea!  I can think of at least a couple a couple times where I posted up what swap meet I would be selling stuff at.  If the thread got big, could also attract more quality sellers too...and help promote the swap meet itself.
If it works good, it looks good...

I like the app as everyone could take a few quick pics and potential buyers could see what is at the meet.  Who know maybe even call dibs on parts same as the forum.  I am all about a swiss army knife type of seller tool that would let sellers sell anywhere.  In person, at swap meets, online, Ebay, Amazon or Etsy.  Most sellers get stuck with a platform as they don't want to deal with relisting all their stuff.  My idea would eliminate that all together.  Still in the early phases, but any input that I can get would help a bunch.

I see where you're going, for sellers, within the app:  Snap the pic, add some text, price and then a drop-down or "select" menu of all sites and urls where the seller wants it listed.  Boom, boom, boom.  Could also add the option of "only within 10 miles" or "20" etc.

The tricky part is the url link back to the app for the info (pic, price, etc.) - since most forums and seller domains have different criteria for uploading info - so it have to be a link only . . . aw heck, I'm rambling again - back to work.

Chewy,
I'm Sure it'll be a better choice than trying to sell on ebay..,what with buyers cancelling, etc. and then the ebay 'hierarchy' putting down the small sellers...  ::)

Ebay can be profitable, but is tons of work for selling bikes or parts it is a major production.  It is really just a dream of mine to have a niche site for selling vintage motorcycle parts using an Android app.

I used to be an automation specialist for Federal Express so I know how fast things can be done and there is lots of room for improvement over Ebay.  All those minutes quickly add up into hours.

I will keep plugging away at it.  Maybe just an app for swap meets and flea markets is the way to go.  It sure would be nice to see everything at a swap meet in advance before you get there.  Kinda like a pro picker app or lazy picker whatever way you want to look at it.
