So picked this up this weekend. After a title scare, think I am out of the woods.

Never had one this old, so excited to get her back on road.

Some pics.

Biggest concern right now is the forks. I know there is fluid coming out from the dust covers, so I am guessing a rebuild is in order. When placed probably in the bike, these forks look huge. Is this cause they aren't sealed or because they are extended?

They look extended and would have originally had gators. Build a choppa!

There were large ape hangers on it. Chopper guys might like em? I kinda like the lower 750 look.

The forks on my bike measure 36" from the center of the axle to the top of the upper tubes.

I want to say they're +6" over stock.

I'm fairly sure yours are extended based on the pic above with the tubes sticking out of the top of the trees, with the frame level.

I have tubes like that, could never get rid of them, not sure how long they actually are.

Oh yes, thats what I have on Red - 78 SuperSport Forks on K3 frame. it gies you a chance to use better brakers than the 1970 Cb750 came with, but they will not work with early K brakes.

It could be made to work. I think the wheel would fit but you would have to get creative with brakes.

I'm not sure if you already know this, Sdsbassist, but the fork lowers for K0 through K2 were different than K3 through K6, and the brake parts don't interchange, so watch out for that.

The main difference is the mounting bracket that connects the caliper arm to the forks, and the caliper arm itself. The calipers are different also. Wheels, rotors, and master cylinders IIRC all interchange between early and late through K6.

So you'll want to be looking for K0 through K2 forks, or get later forks that include the brake system.

The fork uppers are different on the K0-K2 than the later years, also. That's partly why I was interested in these, extended forks for later models can be bought off-the-shelf but the earlier extended tubes would need to be special ordered.

Took of master cyl today. Was locked. Cleaned and a tap and came right out. Seems to have suction. Gonna get some fluid and try it out.
