72mph average. I averaged that on my trip to Ca. and back early this month, that was including fuel stops. If I was trying to set a record on a bike I could go faster. Don't know if I could do it straight for 30 hours though.

He was on a pretty comfy bike,  2015 BMW K 1600 GT six-cylinder.

Washington, DC to Laguna Beach, CA in under 2-1/2 days (Thurs AM depart, arrive Sat PM). Long, hard riding through middle of the country with a purpose. '87 BMW K75s. Tank bag, and a pair of saddles. Had to stop and sleep for safety a couple of times.

then when I was older and dumber I did some distance riding on my gsxr1000

I did a Baja 500 on my cr 250

That's a hard enough drive doing it in a car, there's no way I'd try it on a bike.  At least not in that kind of time.  More like ride about 600 miles, find a nice hotel and restaurant, eat, sleep, shower, breakfast, repeat...

I rode from west central illinois to mt rushmore in 15 hours on a $250 goldwing and a horrible seat and by myself. I could have done it in less with a seat that wasn't like a splitting wedge.
