Brake hoses for 1977 750F2
« on: May 11, 2005, 09:35:03 AM »
I have a 1977 750 F2. Can someone please tell me the part numbers and lengths for the front brake hoses from the 2 way manifold mounted behind the horn to the calipers ?

Also, I have low rise CB400F bars and am looking for a shorter hose from the M/C to this manifold.

If anyone is looking, I bought a rear caliper to M/C hose from siriusconinc.com and also want to replace my "vintage" front hoses dated 1/77.

Thanks for supporting this great site.

I tried the servicehonda site but ActiveX is blocked here at work, don't they understand this is my top priority !!!!!!!?????????? $%&%#^*^&^(%&*.

Since I have to pull the hoses anyway, I guess I'll just pull them off and measure them.

Thanks for the replies.

Lumbee & 750R, thanks for the replies.

I measured the lower hose and its 20" between centers of the banjo fitting holes. I'll try siriusconinc.com for new ones.

sorry I didn't get back to you, I did pull mine off, but then kept working on her untill I had my FZR600 front end bolted up!!

I don't imagine my 30 year old lines would be very usefull to ya!! hehe!!!  As for sirius, I bought my carb kits from them and was very happy with thier customer service!!

CB750R,

Thanks for the offer but I've pushed my vintage hoses far enough. I'd like to see the FZR600 front end you put on, I've heard of this mod but have never seen it done. If you can, send a picture (and some of your ambition too).

Thanks,

Bob

Will do!  it was actually pretty straight forward, the bike already had a set of tapered roller bearings in the head tube, so I just swapped the lower bearing off the honda fork to the yamaha, and then had to remove the top fork stop tab on the frame and shave down the lower fork stops, to get acceptible steering room. then bolt right up, and there she goes!!  I'll take some pics as soon as my buddy comes by with his digital camera.  I through the rear on as well, I had to make some spacers to accomodate a 17mm axle ina  20mm hole!! That and the new hub was 19mm narrower than the honda so I had to make a stepped spacer that took up 9mm width, and then stepped down to 20mm to slide into the chain adjusters and swingarm. This you'd need a friend with a lathe, but easy to manufacture so it would be cheap if you had to pay a shop to make em.

Cheers
