I always liked that oem Suzuki Champagne Silver,it seemed to have a nice light gold color which looks special to me.The 83' GS100ED w/ the full black engine and pipes was kind of 'Fire Engine Red' and very 'loud' to the eyes w/ that red. imo

Might be called Katana Silver according to this.

The 1982 Katana styled GSX400E was offered in the Katana silver or red. Appart from the "sweet Katana" estetics, there were some technical changes:
1) New ignition fully electronic (previous one had a mechanical centrifugal advance system) and ignition advance goes to 30º from previous 20º
2) Carburation tuned to adapt it to exhaust modifications
3) Electrical fuel tank gauge
4) New frame, special mention to rear swinging arm getting 40 mm longer
5) Steering column strongly triangled, turning on conical bearings
6) Anti-dive front fork
7) Engine cover screws changed from cross to hexicon head
The changes in the motor and cycle parts make it a more consistent and brilliant bike.

The 1982 GSX400SZ colors (in France) were Red and Silver Grey.

Being discussed with my past co-worker who painted for me in the past. Cloud Silver on the CB 160.

Asked what he had on the shelf. Viper Red and Viper Silver.

What was that Orange Metallic they used on the Charger Hellcat special edition when it was introduced...it had something in they neighborhood of 770-800 bhp? Looked it up... Toxic Orange Pearl. They reintroduced the Go Mango orange this year...orderable on the SRT and Hellcats. Toxic Orange was also available on the Viper.

That would look nice on it...

But, SWMBO has spoken...will it be Silver or do you dare to cause a ripple in the pond?

The frame cover in the first picture is painted wrong. Second picture is correct.

Do you have a friend who is a welder/fabricator who might consider installing new end-caps on your stock exh. along w/ patching and filling in w/ braze some of those rough areas? I know it would take some time though.. and be expensive.Those stock exh. pipes will be the Best for all-around performance;it's a shame that they are so difficult to source.I would look in foreign salvage yards also,if you know any members of the forum who could find them for you..

I'm almost certain the Sankei 2120 pipes at CMS will work, new OEM. Figure cost plus ship it will hit around $650 to $700. Just looking for alternative means at this point or the EURO to take a dive.

You have to consider shipping from the Netherlands. If damaged in transit? Won't fit? Would increase the cost even more. No, I'll find some someday and can go with what I have also. Still the MAC option until sourcing the correct pipes however the cost of the MAC exhaust can be used towards new, which makes more sense to me.

The exhaust is very easy to remove and I have spare exhaust gaskets. Plenty to do in the meantime. Fork rebuild, carburetor rebuild, dent repair and paint. Want to get the bike dialed in before the heat then wait until October to finish.

Those stock mufflers for the TSCC engine(w/ the carbs. you have) are what you need;that 8-valve engine needs'em.
The Suzuki factory engineers designed them as 'tuned exhaust systems' to give your bike 'Max Kick' in all situations.

I wouldn't worry about CMSNL's shipping...they seem to have things dialed. I ordered a part from them sunday night and had it in hand by Wednsday afternoon.

Brian at bd design made another set of tank decals. Correct now and he will use the input from me in future orders.

Chatting with Babbitt's regarding selling a used lever as new. Unacceptable! You can see the rash on the ball end. Other nicks also.

Other than that, new grip, cleaned and rebuilt brake light switch, master cylinder.

Mounted the right mirror and noticed it appears to sit higher than the left. Researching the mount bracket, might have been replaced with the wrong one. I'll work on that issue. The handlebar is turned to the left some, might be a optical confusion scenario.

More parts today. Christmas in April.

The footrest/shifter arm holder was a mess. Rewelded and crooked too! The arm it's self was bent and trash as far as I was concerned. Complete mess.

Had to source the shifter from the UK. Best price, getting hard to find. The footrest/shifter holder was from Isreal. Yeah, still a great price and worth it. Cheap actually. Bolt from the USA.
