John,

Glad to hear that prayers are working. Glad the prednisone & prayers did the trick. Glad to hear she is doing better, it will lift a big weight off your mind with the worry I am sure you have had.  I hope she bounces back with more energy quickly and they are able to get her kidneys working properly with the dialysis and additional care.

First, thank you for the prayers. I am happy, well elated actually because they worked.

Long story but basically she has been on one medication since 1988. Prednisone. When she was admitted they assumed Renal failure which was not the case. The kidney is scared to the point of almost non functional but the body has not rejected it.

After being deathly ill for 16 days, not eating and looking near death one Doctor figured out to put her back on this medication. I left late yesterday with great concern this was not going to be good. (I have her will in my briefcase)

I came in early today, poked my head around the corner and here was a completely different person. Really? Ate a good dinner the night before, good breakfast this morning. Walking around the Hospital Pod area, smiling, joking. Tired, little weak but that is expected.

She gets dialysis in the morning then a strong possibility of being discharged the same day. Yes, she will need dialysis three times a week, is on the transplant list with a five year wait. Could happen sooner but once we get settled back in I will talk to the Center to see if I can be a donor for her.

What a difference less than 12 hours made. Still not happy with the Doctors oversight at her expense. My Lord, she was ill. Lost 24 pounds. Getting dialysis while feeling this way shows how tuff she really is. One Doctor came thru, I am thankful for that.

Once again, thank you for your prayers. I said it once but I'll repeat it. Having your health is everything. Everything else is minuscule.

Good to hear John, I was on Prednisone for a while and hated it, { lots of side effects} haven't been on it for quite a while now, they have to slowly take you off it, it can kill you if you are taken off it all of a sudden, Prednisone is naturally produced by the body, when taking it artificially you stop producing it naturally, so stopping it in a hurry can be fatal. Glad to hear the wife is doing well, I spent almost exactly a year in hospital waiting for my transplant, I've seen it all my friend, most of it is quite ugly, I'm one of the lucky ones....  Good luck bud... ;)

Thank you everyone.

Yes RR, you can understand how she must have felt. Yup, cold turkey. 16 days. Blood pressure dropped to dangerous levels also. I did convey my concerns on the judgement with many staff people. You know the outcome.

All drugs she takes have nasty side effects. I have seen this now for 20 years, little each day, little each month, little each year. It would be great to give her a "gift of life."

Hoping to make the four and a half hour trip home today. 18 days is enough, Marguritas are in my future. Many.

Looks like another day before drinking comences. Just now getting dialysis (4) hours then discharge time. Add to that setting up new medications, rhetoric from Dietitions and the almighty Social workers, setting up dialysis for when I get her home for Friday its, well yeah, a long day.

Did I add the 4:30 minute drive home? No, I'll stay another night in Phoenix. I do know of a Bar within walking distance however.  ;)

Those last minute details sound like good after-care tt;that Prednisone takes away from the body necessary stuff for digestion so it's good that it's being dealt with.

Not much to report as these are busy times as you all know. Waiting on paint, waiting on carburetors and waiting on a surprise package from far away. The surprise package was ordered on May 12 TH, still not shipped. More on that later.

I did finally get another chain guard. The first one was shoved in a box that was to small causing damage. It was over packed this time.

Have a sales invoice showing this was replaced in 1991 but with the wrong part.

Wrong part.

Correct part.

Onward, but slowly.

Having a painter that sticks to a schedule is rare...

Lots of other things to occupy your time if you are so inclined.  Can always surf Tempest for bike deals and line up the next one. There are a few "bike builders" ( I use that term very loosely) who gobble upall the CBs in the Phoenix area. It is probably a good thing you aren't just a CB kinda guy.

Posted this on the wrong thread...sorry about that...

TOYTUFF,

There is a guy, Chris Dupen of NetBikes, on the VJMC email list (loosely affiliated with the VJMC which has pockets of good membership and club events in a few areas of the country but not in others) who is in AU and he favors old Suzuki's.
Give me a link to that photo you included and I will email the VJMC Email list to see if anyone can help, on a broader forum request.  To contact Chris Dupen down under, email him at netbikes@netbikes.com.au

Here is the USA link.

http://www.suzukipartshouse.com/oemparts/a/suz/50d3f197f8700230d8b4bc5c/muffler

Was used on the 1983 GS450 only as far as I can tell. Same part number for my 1982 GSX400E.

Right side 14780-44460 superseded by 14780-44461.

If someone is good with bending metal mine could be repaired and re- chromed. If I have to buy a pair then both are fine also.
