I have a full set of NOS Suzuki carb. 'slides' w/ the same carburetors as you have Mikuni BS34SS but these slides are a different part# 13500-38310 or the old superseded #13500-49200. They are for the GS1100E

I emailed several vendors who specifically deal in Mikuni carburetors. (Canada never replied)

This was one response which was repeated by others.

very unique to that bike and while they are available for CMSNL they are
crazy expensive...

Thos same carbs were used on hundreds of models across the big 4 Japanese
manufacturers from singles to 4 cylinder bikes. But while they may look the
same on the outside the insides are VERY specific and wildly different so
parts from one BS34SS won't fit another, they are very model specific,
particularity the slides...

Depending on how much you want to spend on repair, refinish, or even another set of pipes, you might save money and time on your set if the rusted area was wire-wheeled or ground clean, then use a bit of JB Weld to fill in the holes. I did that to a 400F collector last year that was worse then your pipes and it's holding up very well. It's probably not a permanent repair, but it's an affordable/easy option.

Yeah, got a '79 GS1000S "Wes Cooley"..the only non-Honda I've ever owned. Love this bike.

At least you aren't riding it on a military base, it requires the bike to have been regularly inspected and stickered by them and you to have additional training, etc. for the priviledge to ride it there. Not stickered, then it is parked at the gate.
bike is cleaning up well.
You know how to clean them up and make them look pretty again.

Nice looking new toys.

The Suzukis did always have pretty lines.

Are they aluminum? If not, best to zinc plate them. Rafi loves to zinc plate things for his friends

barrel plating is the way to go and several do it at home...like Calj says...whisper to Rafi and see if he'll bite...

More progress. Waiting on swing arm bearings before powder coating the swing arm.

Scored a pair of OEM headlight ears off flea bay

new side covers arrived as well as this left bracket from Israel for 10 bucks plus 12 ship. Mine had been re welded and bent. Great score. Had fun with the mail lady. Is it jewlery? No, it's a bomb.

General cleaning.

Still need to order new tires. Can't decide between Avons in radial sizing or stick with the IRC gs11 in standard sizing. Want to get the back end done then move to the middle removing all covers for polish.

Found another set of exhaust without dents and clean end caps. Hope it cleans up or can be ceramic coated. $75 plus ship was worth rolling the dice. Won't arrive until end of month as seller is out of town. I can wait.

Out of all the Honda's I owned the most fun factor were the CB350 twins and the CBX.

I never owned one of those 'TSCC' twins but I know the difference it makes w/ those TSCC 4-valve heads as in my previous GS1100E compared to the 2-valve Suzuki's. They love and really 'shine'

up at the high rpm's more.

Checked with the local body shop on tank repair. Reputable Shop, do nice work. He suggested to first check with a dent repair guy which I will do on Wendesday.

Removed the fuel gauge sending unit and can't belive how clean this tank is.

Top side. Marks are from the sending unit arm. Wipe right off.

Frame cover check, good. Covers off a 1983 GS450 model. Always a good thing when you can replace covers with OEM. $58 each was cheap enough.

TT has some of the best luck and he sure knows how to detail a bike too. Heck, if the seller saw what TT could do just cleaning it up he would have had a change of heart or ask for $500 more.

TT, I think for spirited riding you would be happier with the Avons, even if your wallet would prefer the IRCs. IRC does make some stickier stuff but not in your sizes.

Did you catch the news about the attack in Columbus Ohio several weeks ago at the Israeli restuarant there. I used to frequent Hanny's place. He is a great guy and fantastic with kids...a real cutup. Great food too.
He is an Arab Christian from Israel.
I lived in Columbus area from 86-05
Nazareth Deli was a great place and has expanded from when I was living there. Hanny would warmly greet his customers and make them feel like good family. One of his favorite farewells to his patrons was, I love you man. He meant it, he loves people.

Parts in for powder coating. In order to mount swing arm a few pieces needed cleaning and polished. The assorted side covers are in pretty good nick with just a few areas of sanding. Since I had sandpaper, buffer and compound thought I would give it a go.

This was the side with acid overflow.

Sprocket cover and left mount.

Center stand and side stand mounted while in easy reach. New battery cables.

Onward..

Ordered up a new chain and a set of tires. Went with the Avon Roadriders, 90/90 in front 90/100 in rear with new tubes of course.
