No worries David, not into it that much. No need to bolt and hide. We are always home, neighbors always watching. Guns always loaded and in every room. Intruders beware.

Paid $500 for everything, sold $150 worth of stuff to my neighbor today. Only into it $350 for the ammo and right now two rifles and seven pistols. Pistol sales pending, keeping rifles. Always wanted a Winchester 30-30 with over two hundred rounds. The rifle alone is worth $350 used according to my neighbor. Very nice condition.

It's all good. Sell, sell, sell! Keep what I want, move on.  ;)

I now need a gun safe. A big one.  :o

I'm right there with you.  Collection's getting bigger after getting into some Lever Actions and rebuilding an old WWI German Mauser.  Feeling foolish stashing everyting in the back of a clost  ::)

That Suzuki is looking really nice. I hope she purrs? growls? making you smile and enjoy all the hard work cleaning and polishing...

Any other bikes you considering... You probably have another 3 weeks of cool weather before it turns really hot.  Did you install that AC unit, you were considering quite a while back, in the garage?

Gotta buddy in Phoenix teaching at Arizona State University, he has 4 cars here and just bought a car in Europe for him to enjoy while teaching in the UK during the summers. His 4 cars here are '65 Studebaker Cruiser, '75 Volvo 164E, '91 Volvo 244DL, and '06 Ford Crown Victoria SE.  He went cheap and obscure but with a huge aftermarket/hop-up market for rally racing...  Czech made Skoda 120.  A 2k Euro car...
Apparently there are lots of support in the aftermarket for this slow car... only 44 bhp stock.
I would have never expected it.  But Doc's tastes are eclectic. His Stude has a Corvette LS5 front suspension with a '70s SCCA Trans Am build spec motor, different rear end with heavy leaf springs to keep the tires planted and it is very quick and entertaining. A sleeper in a dark turquoise blue green paint. The 164 has been rebuilt and the camshaft is out of a European model that pumped out an added 15 hp. He changed out the firewall panel in the 240 to put a manual transmission in it. The gas mileage in the 240 is better with the manual and is a little faster yet it still passes California smog as do all of his cars. The Skoda doesn't have a snowballs chance of passing smog anywhere I would bet.
Sorry for the off-topic sidetrack...

Well darn, I just bought a small one from the Widow across the street. Sentry I think it was. $60.00. Couldn't pass that price up. Just fits in my last open spot in the Shop.

Also four bricks of 40 grain 22 longs and two boxes of 300 silver tip HP shells. Neighbor says the 300 ammo is worth $75 a box. $30.00 for all.

It's official, I need a bigger Shop.

Next feat is a round peg into a rectangleuar hole.  ;D

I'll have to file, or Dremal, the bottom of the tank in order to get the petcock mounted to the tank. Has to be just right. To big equals replacing tank. I'll use the gasket as a template and go a little at a time.

Oh fun.

The key here is to eliminate the vacuum petcock which is problematic with this and other Suzuki models of the era.

The other half is down in Phoenix, kidney failure. We both new it was coming. 16 years on this one which is good. Just waiting on the word for blood order to see if I match. I only need one anyway.

This is nothing new to me as I have been thru 3 transplants with her. Not my organs at least not yet. Will see.

I have to keep my mind occupied. I just can't sit here and think about it. Today I decided to work on the fuel tank.

Parts.

First thing is to mark the tank.

The key here is to use in to out strokes keeping the file shavings down as much as possible. I also suggest using a big rat tail file as this keeps the circumference somewhat even.

File a little at a time checking for fit making sure the petcock assembly slides in freely.

Perfect.

Check fitment. Petcock is not in the final position. I'll turn tight when I get to that point. Blew tank out with compressed air but will rinse out also.

No more issues with a vaccum petcock. It's gone.

Thank you. She has had four in her life, three of which I was involved. Two kidneys, two pancreas.

You know the drill, blood work, constant medication changes, good days and bad. Nasty medications with nasty side effects. We pick up 14 medications a month.

She has not shown much improvement but they are putting her thru living hell. Kidney biauspie, daily dialysis and Monday die in her to look at the heart. Die destroys kidneys but her crontnie is 5.6 a few days ago. Best around 1.0 or below. I just wish she could eat. No food for seven days now.

To everyone else thank you for the concerns. If you have your health you need nothing else other than family. It truly is everything and I have to remind myself of this constantly.

« Reply #398 on: May 31, 2016, 07:47:56 PM »
First, thank you for the prayers. I am happy, well elated actually because they worked.

Long story but basically she has been on one medication since 1988. Prednisone. When she was admitted they assumed Renal failure which was not the case. The kidney is scared to the point of almost non functional but the body has not rejected it.

After being deathly ill for 16 days, not eating and looking near death one Doctor figured out to put her back on this medication. I left late yesterday with great concern this was not going to be good. (I have her will in my briefcase)

I came in early today, poked my head around the corner and here was a completely different person. Really? Ate a good dinner the night before, good breakfast this morning. Walking around the Hospital Pod area, smiling, joking. Tired, little weak but that is expected.

She gets dialysis in the morning then a strong possibility of being discharged the same day. Yes, she will need dialysis three times a week, is on the transplant list with a five year wait. Could happen sooner but once we get settled back in I will talk to the Center to see if I can be a donor for her.

What a difference less than 12 hours made. Still not happy with the Doctors oversight at her expense. My Lord, she was ill. Lost 24 pounds. Getting dialysis while feeling this way shows how tuff she really is. One Doctor came thru, I am thankful for that.

Once again, thank you for your prayers. I said it once but I'll repeat it. Having your health is everything. Everything else is minuscule.
