Cycle X 849cc Tin Coated Pistons
« on: February 11, 2016, 01:22:48 am »
I couldn't seem to find much info on guys using the 849 Cycle X pistons.  Is there a reason they are 65.5mm instead of 65mm?  Are there any issues with the tin coating on them?  Those who have used these pistons, have you had generally good or bad results?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Cheers!

65mm = 836cc, no?  65.5mm = 849cc?  i have run a set since long before they started using any type of coating. any questions in particular?  i have literally beat the piss outta the motor, and had no issues.  i have a new set still in the box.  you need some???

They are bigger so you can use them with worn out 836 bore.

What head gasket did you use for the 65.5 pistons?

Ahh right.  Posted this late, dunno what I was thinking.

What head gasket did you use for the 65.5 pistons?

Wondered this too.  Will the cruzinimage 65mm head gasket work with these?

I just measured my spare Cruzinimage headgasket and the fire rings measure at 67.15 mm un-compressed so i would say your likely fine with one.

I have seen these kits dirt cheap they come up on ebay for $99 from time to time

Who has succesfully run these on the stock sleeves? Some people say the liners get too thin at 65.5mm

Thanks for checking those measurements.  Yeah, I was looking at that set and thinking of picking them up.
