CB750F1 pistons interchangeable?
« on: February 16, 2016, 12:10:09 AM »
Hi,

technical question for experts.

Can the later type CB750F1 pistons, part number 13101 392 020 be fitted to earlier engines that are equipped as standard with piston part number 13101 392 000?

The earlier pistons have valve pockets on the piston crown and use different piston rings than the later pistons.

The later pistons don't have valve pockets and use different piston rings from the earlier pistons
.

According to the parts catalogue the valve gear and camshafts are the same on both models.

My 1976 CB750F1 has engine number 2544731.

Hope someone out there can help.

Best regards

Skoti.
