Fly, my old home town and I don't know about the Cecil but god there were some terrible ones in Van I remember one where the waiters would short change you and if you #$%*ed it was the "Bums Rush" through the doors, my old man was an aficionado of some of the scaliest ones and on the infrequent trips up from California he would do a pilgrimage much to my mother's disgust.

Marco Rubio ran a campaign ad entitled "Morning in America" that had shots of Vancouver, BC, in it. Campaigns get lazy and use stock footage without checking it first -- Trump used one with refugees from somewhere in Africa or the Middle East and they were supposed to be Mexicans crossing illegally into the US. Sloppy all around, but you can apparently see a Canadian flag flying in the Rubio ad.

I don't remember the Cecil either, but there was a big old joint called the VanPort Hotel I think. Shheesh, I sat with my back to wall in that place.

Jesus my old man would go through ones like that and I would be astounded and twitchy no problem and yes I would look to put my back the wall. Then there was the one we went into and some of the people remembered him including a lady of how shall we say it negotiable virtue that bellowed "Mac" at the top of her voice "You Old Bastard"  "How the Hell are You" I don't remember if it was the "Blackstone" but it was interesting. Ah yes the tales of yesteryear in port town. I know it's changed but I still love that town all ways something going on.

Seriously? I remember the hotel bar where a girl started dancing and stripping right on our table! It was right at the edge of gastown. Now that's the mark of a great society! Don't think you will find that in the states.

Yeah.  Didnt need to go anywhere else.  Dinner. Drinks. Entertainment.  Sports on big screens.  (not that you needed something else to look at)   All in one place.  8)
Twice I was there and HUSTLER was using it as a venue to showcase their centerfolds.
Attended many a bachelor party there.  :-X   It was shut down a few years back  :'(
