Do any of you know where i can go to a nationwide type store(Tractor Supply, etc.?)and buy different types of 1.5" exhaust fittings such as elbows-45 & 90 degree type and then I can buy myself a length of 1.5" auto exhaust pipe and just build my own headpipe for my Honda w/ the fittings ?  :)
I went to a traditional muffler shop today and had them bend me up a piece of 1.5" steel pipe but I noticed the hydraulic bending machine does crush in the pipe quite a bit.. plus they do charge big $ for custom bending by the hour.  ::)

cone engineering has all that stuff.  Lots of places got to have pre bent angles.

I don't think you'll be finding 1.5" mandrel bent fittings off the shelf, that's pretty small for automotive exhaust, most of what you'll find at the local places is plain bent aluminized exhaust tubing.

However as said there's plenty of places selling mandrel bent fittings online, you can even go stainless if you choose and have the welding equipment, then you don't have to plate or paint.

Have you ever ordered anything from them chewy, can you get separate parts like that w/o buying a complete muffler kit?

Have you tried an auto parts store like Napa or anywhere that sells Walker exhaust? you'll need a good parts guy who will take the time. Sometimes they offer universal pre bent 90, 45 degree pipes that can be combined and oriented to the angle you want.
I have done it, but with bigger pipe.

A Hossfeld bender can smooth bend 1 1/2" .065 wall chrome moly but mild steel has to be .125 that's pretty thick. Pennsylvania's full of circle track shops isn't it? Check S&W race cars.

Thanks for that feedback Don & I appreciate the info.I've only lived here in PA. for about 4 yrs. on and off and don't know any racers or where they might meet but I could try chasing around a little more.I just got the # for someone who has a mandrel bender but only likes bending very thick mil steel tubing.I'm trying to see if he can find the specs of different O.D. pipe(automotive always uses o.d.) in the 'inside' to get me to about 36mm or 1 7/16" i.d. which was  recommended by an Australian Bucket Racer called 'the phantom' on the web from an old article back late 90's- early 2000's,the article on the web is "On the Problem of the XR200" and contains lot's of interesting facts about how to set-up an XR200 or XL185 for racing or high performance.I have a very nice ported head w/ stock valves and want to get the best flow I can through the headpipe and then I can install different mufflers for more or less backpressure. The i.d. and length of the pipe will determine the power curve of where my little engine will 'peak' and i'm thinking I want the high midrange to high end powerband depending what cam I use.I've been researching around and so far haven't found too much info on the web about high performance XR200 engine tuning but I keep looking;that one article I mentioned is solid.

They make that quiet core exhaust and everyone that buys it raves about it.  That is their business making exhaust parts for people who want to build their own exhaust systems.  They sell collectors, pre bent piple, a megaphones.  Think mostly stainless, but they might have mild steel too.
