Finally got my air filter gasket and........
« on: February 19, 2016, 08:25:36 PM »
There's a gap that I just can't bend back for the life of me... Prior to getting the gasket looks like the PO used electric tape... Would that remedy the gap here? All other sides are tight

It looks like the body of the housing is warped, pretty common. If it is warped on the outside of the filter entry, it will work OK (mine has been that way for 30 years!) except for letting out some extra carb noise.  If it is letting unfiltered air in past the filter, though, it's a  little more serious, and might suggest finding another filter housing?

If you have a heat gun you can work on it and adjust the shape a bit, I have done so successfully in the past.  Be careful..
