Machined up battery/solenoid tray and some exhaust hangers.
Only the oil tank to go. Then tear done, detail and paint.
Wiring wil be last to do.

Damn, that is so pretty it's a shame to cover it with a battery and starter solenoid.

Yes, Ian Halcott did a great job. I hope I made the model correct.

Work in progress. Lots a tweaking. Each silencers is slightly different.
So I need to go back and forth trying to mirror each side.
I think I'll go with this now on right side.
Just need to figure out the hard mounts.

Awesome build.   remember - you can only see one side at a time.   So exact symetry is too critical.  As long as they look symetrical from the rear.

Again - Fantastic build.  Can not wait to see it finished.  The exhaust is beautiful.

Very true. I spent three days getting that right.

How about symetrical exhaust hangers.:-)

Oil tank from Ian Halcott comes in tomorrow.
Looking forward to tearing down for paint next week.

This is the final piece to fit. Oil tank.
Construction is now complete.
I now tear down, detail, paint and assemble.

Rob,

Yes, he has a short dirt track oval.  Great for mini-bikes.  We were running around on 90s and 110s. Loads of fun.

We also checked out the fitment photos of the oil tank.  Looks great.  Your build looks primo.

Beautiful, the only thing I would change is, I would angle the pipes up a bit at the rear, they sit a bit low for me... ;)

And blend the tube intersection (under tank) so that the tubes flow seamlessly.

Hello,
I just joined the forum when I saw this thread. I am Wolfgang from Vienna / Austria, 56 years old and regularly do restorations or custom bikes for myself.
You may cruzify me now when I tell my story since it is not related to HONDA CB´s but BIMOTA HB1 - my intention is not to highjack this thread, if you feel so let me know and I will stop immediately.

I am building a BIMOTA replica as well, as close to HB1 as I can get, but with a SUZUKI GT750 engine in. There is 2 reasons for this - I am two stroke nut and I had a spare engine tuned to TR750 specs left.
Apart from the engine and from the exhaust pipes, my bike is a HB1 replica.

Complete frame / swingarm - using similar swingarm pivot construction as BIMOTA / Rob:

Original BIMOTA Rearset:

AP Lockheed master cylinder:

SUZUKI Tacho with modified face:

Battery is a LiPoFe4 hidden in a standard lead acid battery cover.

The engine is expected to have ca. 90 RWHP.
Many details on the pics are still preliminary mockups, like the rear axle excenter adjuster, triple clamps, dummy engine block, etc.
Plan is to have it completed in spring 2017.
If someone can give me a hint on the closest frame color match to a HB1 I would be very happy - I am very sensitive to correct colors in all my rebuilds.

best regards

Wolfgang
