I saw this at the Javits Center Sunday. Made the trip from south NJ, specifically to see it, and a Max Hazan bike. Unfortunately, there was no Hazan bike, but this one was great. One of the nicest bikes there. Unfortunately, it's so understated and stock looking (for a Bimota), that the masses probably didn't appreciate all the hand labor that went into building it. It probably would have been more favorable (from a voting standpoint) if the carbon fiber was left naked, but I'm glad he didn't. Two thumbs up.

Some people on BOTM liked the CF and some would have preferred this painted version.  You cannot always be all things to all people, right?

When I was looking at it, 3 guys came up, and said, "oh, old school!" People just don't know the history, what it is, and it's so perfectly executed, they don't realize it's all hand made. I think they assume it's a very clean restoration.

All very true. There were a number of people who knew what it was and were shocked to see it. The most refreshing was a guy who turned out to have a lot of knowledge on the bike. He congratulated me because it took him a bit to realize it was a copy. He said he was fooled. After more conversation he threw me for a loop and asked
Me about something that very few people would know about and something not discussed in this  thread. The swing arm bolt is actually eccentric. You might have wondered why all the holes in the plate where bolt is. That is actually the head of the bolt, so you can index it. Since the chain adjuster is eccentric also. When you tighten the chain the ride height changes so you can then adjust the swing arm bolt.

Someone with proper computer video and sound processing equipment should be able to fill your request for the ringtone.
Or, you could do an audio recording repeating the same sequence used in the clip.  Getting the right microphone to handle the sound accurately is part of it.  A cellphone may if it is a current model iphone...otherwise someone with the gear to record it will have the mics with a good dynamic range.

Here is my frame, back from the paint shop. Assembly can begin! I use a different approach then Rob, I try to only use accessories and technologies which were available at the time, only exeption being the electronic ignition and LiFePo battery (hidden in a shell of a classic lead acid battery). I finally sourced original Bimota period-correct handlebars, already have genuine rearsets.









I hope I don´t upset you with this high-jacking of a threa, even with the wrong engine in the bike!

I see in the photos that your beautiful bike has it's sidestand on the 'wrong' side. This is probably how Bimota did it on the original - but why?

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.
