CB550 carb question
« on: February 22, 2016, 09:44:13 AM »
I am rebuilding a 78 CB550.  The PO sold the bike to me with a 74 carb.  I rebuilt the carb and I am in the process of putting it on the bike.  It seems like the pull cable is to long.  Are there different cable lengths for different years?

You can check in the CB550 Parts Lists http://www.honda4fun.com/materiale-documentazione-tecnica/parts-list/parts-list-cb550 and after entering the found partsnumber(s) here http://www.motogrid.com/Validate.aspx and click 'select model' you'll know. Be aware that Honda supplies different cables for models with US and lower handlebars.

you can order cables of any length you want from MotionPro easily… and not expensively.
I recently restored and sold a 77 cb750f, and am nearly finished with a (former basket case) cb750k5.  This is a place to share, learn and enjoy.  I am grateful to and for 99+% of this site's membership.
