Topic: Need some help with this Suzuki

I recently traded for a suzuki 750 with a guy. I have the title but I'm not sure the year is correct, or at least not for the motor. Can someone help me interpret the engine registration number?

I looked at this before but it really doesn't have the information I need. Most of the sites I have found are for newer bikes with more than 11 characters. The title says its an 83, but the tank, sidecovers, and motor design says a little earlier. I don't even know the model number. I dont know if its 8v or 16v and I wanna start ordering parts for it. I live too far away from my garage to have time to take it apart just to find out.

Looks like 80-82 to me.

Tank and sidepanels are different from European models so can't say anything about them.

Might be able to get the bike model from the carburators too.  Seems like they changed the carb model along with the bike in those days.

Vacuum carbs, guessing early to mid 80's.
