Okay, having a big problem right now with the onset of Fall/Winter.  No garage in which to work on the 750.  Playstation 3 is scheduled to release Nov. 17 at a hefty price of $600 U.S.  Today I was horrified to find a thought in my head that suggested selling my K6 to purchase said PS3, and find another SOHC in the spring.  Somebody please find a large blunt object and strike me with it.....

the hand eye coordination and exhileration involved in spirited riding will never be beaten by a video game.  i understand the whole not using it much over the winter, but what are you going to sell in the spring to get another bike... at the beginning of the season when prices are high.  this is all assuming you could get $600 (plus tax) for your bike in November.  Also, the games will not be "sooooo goooood!!!" until programmers start taking advantage of the new capabilities, which even sony admits hasnt happened yet, and by the time it does, who knows maybe the price will come down enough so that you dont have to sell a vehicle to get one.

PS2/3 forums just plain suck.  Besides, what's the universal response from guys who once had a Honda SOHC4?  The ones I've met always say, "I had one years ago, and man it was a sweet bike."  So, you can be an owner, or a wistful ex-owner.  I guarantee that if you sell your bike now you won't pick up one in the spring.  As Mr. Longbaugh said, "A plan is just a list of things that never happen."

I gotta agree with what everyone else has said. And I love video games! There is just no comparison between the thrill of riding and staring at a TV for hours.

Besides, games on the PC blow console games away. Go buy a game or two for the PC you already have and keep the bike. You can even buy a new PC for less than $600.00.

If I wasn't working right now (and if it wasn't going to rain tonight, and if I didn't have plans tomorrow, etc., etc.), I'd hop on my bike, ride down there and smack you with an Atari joystick! 

And who would paRSNIP have to hug?

I have a few humble suggestions should you go for the PS3:

• Wear an open face helmet and sit in front of a big fan when gaming.
• Have a picture taken of you on your bike.  Post it prominently so you can think of your bike when you get bored from gaming.
• Get this eminently, supremely lame game so you can relive the fun of wrenching on a bike.
• Get ready for next summer by repeating the question, "Why did I sell my bike?"

Other than that, you should be fine.

Are you nuts? Is there an assumption that you will have more money for another sohc later? Like buying a new vehicle the worst time to buy new electronic stuff is when it has just been launched. In a years time you will be able to pick up one of these new video game things on eBay for a fraction of the price.

If you have to sit looking at a tv/monitor screen for hours on end, troll the old posts on this forum... it's very entertaining, and best of all it's free!

Now go outside and pat the bike on the headlight and whisper that you love it really and that you must have taken leave of your senses.

mostly because you must have been high to come up with this idea IC.  just say the word (the word being: i have come to my senses and no longer think of this as a possibility) and im sure a moderator will be happy to delete this post and we can all forget the day you went crazy.

One things for sure, youll never get run down by a bus on your PS3. But i also agree the feeling of flying around corners on your honda cant be beat.
