Carb return spring holder

Was was twisting throttle and hears a ping and they would return. The bottom plate where the spine cates came free of wherever it belonged.

Where does it go?

Instead of a fuel T, between 2&3 there is a little plate that goes in there with a hole in it.

The thing is, the shape of the plate should make it basically impossible for it to "pop out", something would have to be seriously bent or broken for this to happen.

Ordinarily the ears of the plate are trapped quite deeply into recesses in the carb bodies.

I had just unrack ed the carbs to replace a carb body. Guessing part or all of it came out them and when I cracked the throttle it popped out.
