Ignition switch positions

What is ignition switch position 2 supposed to do?

I am just completing my rebuild and position 1 ( links +ve 12v to pretty much all and seems to be the running position. I.e +12v to all circuits (lights, indicators ...

Just a bit confused about position 2 that seems to provided+12v to a brown wire but unsure what this position is supposed to do
If you think there's light at the end of the tunnel it's usually another train !!

Parking light.  Key can come off the ignition.

The second position is called the Park position and marked P on some switches.  The running light in the taillight is powered directly from the battery in this position, and nothing else.  It's meant so that if you're parked on the side of the road in the dark, people will be able to see you.

It is therefore important to purchase correct reflector when needed, with parking light. The right handcontrol has OFF-P-Headlight

It should be possible to add on US bikes too.

Parking light is on with LO or Hi. I have relays for the headlight to avoid the current thru the hand control switches. + one extra relay that switch off P with LO so the light pattern is not disturbed by my bright LED parking light that I can use at daylight driving,  saving battery if needed.
