CB500 Rocker cover oil leak
« on: March 01, 2016, 09:38:51 AM »
Hello, I have an oil leak from the rocker cover that doesn't seem to want to go away. Leak comes form the o-ring. I tried new o-ring, I loosened the bracket and made sure it was in the correct position. Heres a pic.
thanks, Mark

Clean out the hole? Could be dried up sealant or whatever that blue stuff is in there preventing a seal. Or maybe the surface is gouged.

Yeah, definitely clean out all of the old sealant and make sure you have the correct size 6x3 o-ring in there. I'd also replace the crush washer under the bracket bolt. If it still leaks, you could apply a light coat of hondabond to the o-rings to help it seal.
