Rode the 500 four yesterday
« on: February 23, 2006, 08:18:44 AM »
This is the same bike I had listed in the bikes for sale thread.

Anyway, looked scarry as it was still missing the h-lamp bucket and turn sigs as well as the brake light. OK it was a scab, but now after the head light, gauges, and front turn signals it looks a bit more like a bike. Ran real damn nice. Very tempted to keep it. Was thinking House of Kolor Candy Apple Red. I bought this bugger for $50! So riding it with minimal effort into it is great.

I changed out the fork ears, tubes, and gaiters. Who knew the 71 set I had was different from the 72 set. Had to change the wheel along with it as there was next to nothing for clearance on the brake rotor. It was a matter of a axle change in the wheel. shouldered side was oposite from the two years.

Now all I have to do is finish it and convince DOT it is worthless, I have the old icky pictures. Then I dont have to bond it to get a title. Think I will finish it and go for a ride today.  ;D

Nice pickup!  And to think of some of the ways I've spent $50.
