Headlight Wiring Help

I have a 73 CB350F and the headlight has four options OFF, LOW, NEUTRAL, and HIGH.  How does the NEUTRAL setting differ from the LOW and HIGH? Asking because the switch I have will only allow me to wire up OFF, LOW, and HIGH.  Would that be problematic?

Any recommendations of a switch that I could buy to put in my handle bar controls as a replacement?

Also I could just permanently solder the black and striped brown wires together and simply not have an off setting.

The factory setting on a North American bike was off/low/high and no neutral setting. If you have a switch with these 3 settings then you have the correct switch.

Do you have a downloaded manual? It has the wiring diagram in there for the correct switch and IMO I would leave the off setting in place, as it allows you to turn off the headlight. This can be helpful when working on the bike and not having the large current draw from the headlight being on when not needed, or kick starting if your battery is low.

If you have a aftermarket headlight with this neutral setting just ignore it and wire only the 3 positions. White is low I believe and blue is high beam on the stock headlight assy and green is ground. The other wires in the switch are for the ignition kill and start functions.

Awesome thanks. The Clymer manual I have shows a neutral setting but I have not been able to figure out how to make it work with the switch. Thanks for the help! That is one of the four things left on my checklist out of the way
