Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on a 74 cb750, so I'm told. This is my first bike, and build. I got this as payment for some work I did on an old timers house. I'm thinking this is going to be an evolving project. I'm truly excited. I'm not sure whats original to the bike or if somethings already been switched out. Any help with any identifying parts would be greatly appreciated.

Conrad

Welcome. A few things to know that will help you immensely, as this is your first bike.

There's a book by a member, that is better than any/all manuals produced with excellent documentation and guidance on repairs, maintenance, and improvements for your bike. You can find it here: http://www.sohc4shop.com/catalog/index.php

Also, the "screws" on that bike are not Phillips, they're JIS and need a completely different set of tips to remove them without tearing them up. You can find a very good quality set of them, plus an impact wrench here: http://www.mcssl.com/store/rrr-tool-solutions

Using these two "purchases" alone will save you more money and time than the benefit of experience of rebuilding a dozen motorcycles. Of course, the support and assistance from many members here is not to be discounted either  ;). Start a build thread in the "Projects" section, and get documenting on your new adventure!

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis

RetroRocket, that's what I guessed, about the 5 posts until being able to post pics to the gallery. Same thing here, so started posting, then saw your note in this thread. Thanks.
