Alright guys, wasn't feeling too great and I guess it was a bad idea to work on the bike. Granted this my first project and I understand there will be mistakes, it still sucks. So here's where I went wrong, I tried splitting the cases on my 1973 750 today. And I was successful. But while attempting to remove the shifter bearing retainer (I think that's what it is called) I broke it. Amateur mistake. Cylinder block is almost off too, cylinder 4 is still stuck. Decided to encourage it off with some tapping on some wood with a mallet. Making sure it was going up even and not messing up the studs, all is good. Wood splintered and went up and broke the bottom fin. Decided it was best to quit while I was behind. Anyone know where I can find a new shifting bearing retainer? Thanks
