I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!

Hello, Terry...it's good to be back at this old / new site.  Sounds like you've got a needle-problem all right.  Maybe it'll clear up afer a few more runs...but if not...poor, poor dog!

Terry in Australia:
G'Day Josh, welcome back mate, long time no correspondence? Anyways, last night I got home from work, went out to the garage and finished tweaking my old carbs and refitted them. Now here's the embarrassing part Steve, when I took the tank off, I realised that I'd left off #2 spark plug lead! No wonder it ran like a piece of crap on Sunday after I'd cleaned the plugs.

Anyway, undaunted by my own stupidity, I charged further into the fray and hooked everything back up, and was rewarded by my most magnificent F2 bursting into life almost immediately! "Tres Bon", as our hairy-armpit-women loving, snail munching gallic friends are known to exclaim (almost as often as "I surrender!") Even better, it was running on all four cylinders, albeit a tad rich (read: I can't see the wall 20 feet away) but I'd set the pilot screws at 2 1/2 turns out, so I'll fine-tune them tomorrow night, and things'll be cool.

I'm happy, the dog's happy, so all I need to do now is remove the engine, strip it down to the last nut and bolt, get the engine cases "Hot Tanked" to remove all the old paint, etch prime the cases and paint them again with VHT engine enamel to bring them back to their former glory, reassemble the engine, and refit it back into the frame. Oh well, winter is on it's way here in the southern hemisphere, so it'll give me something to do on the two or three wet days that we're all dreading over the next 6 months! OR, I might get them powder coated? Cheers, Terry. 8)

Where do you live Terry that you get that many wet days? Up here on the Central Coast of NSW I've meant to rewire my old thing for yonks but can't stop riding in the sunshine long enough to get started.

G'Day Guys, Yeah, I'm in wet miserable Melbourne. Hey I bought my son's digicam yesterday (he wouldn't loan it to me when I told him what I want to do ;D) where do you reckon the best place to mount it is, on my bike, or on my helmet?

It's only gonna be about 28 deg C (80 deg F) on the weekend, but as cold as that is here, I'll still try to venture out for a ride on the F2 and shoot some footage of my favourite roads here.Is there some kind of bracket I can buy to fit it to my helmet like those skydivers use? Would be a lot better if I can "pan" around to look at stuff on the ride? Cheers, Terry. 8)
