ps i will probably never go see this movie as it will not screen at the drive in (the season is over).. i talked a lot of #$%* about  being excited about flyboys and i never saw that, (the drive in failed to secure a print) so this time i wanted to be upfront.

I dunno.. I'm a bit worried with a "no-name" actor playing Bond this time.

(Of course, George Lazenby was a "no-name" guy too and he was a pretty good Bond- I think he was underrated.)

bond has to be a no name. hes a freaking secret agent. recognizing the secret agent is a no no.  hence my loathing of remington steel.

Drive Through.  Where do you live.  I've only seen those huge screen in big empty lots.  Whats the fun in going to see a modern movie and not being able to experience the surround sound.

It's been a looong time since you've been to the drive-in.

No more speaker hanging on a window (and letting mosquito's in).  Now, they have a very weak* FM transmitter so you can tune in the movie on your car stereo.

*How weak?  As you pull out of the parking lot, the signal fades.

Here in Oklahoma City, the drive-in is only open on weekends now that it's getting colder.  Open every night during the summer.

Ah, but could it possibly be as good as this version? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061452/ Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, David Niven, Woody Allen, and more. All as James Bond!  ;D

We went to the drive in this past summer for the first time in several years. The experience was pretty good, but the movies sucked (Talledega Nights and Barnyard).

Well worth watching on the big screen, lots of action, Daniel Craig is (just) possibly the best Bond yet.

I live in Baltimore, the drive in is 'the bengies' and its about 20 minutes east of me.  and brother you dont know what surround sound is until you are watching  alien versus predator in an elcamino with two woofers behind the seats and an infinity studio monitor where the glovebox used to be.  and even though they only ply crap movies (figuring out how to rent it during the weeks where they only have weekend showtimes and show good old films) at least you are watching that crap on the largest screen on the east coast (sometimes the owner claims the country) the drive in is the ONLY place to see movies.

I thought it was okay, but there wasn't enough cool "gadgets" or typical Bond humor.  I couldn't figure out why they changed the opening from all the other films- was it because this was supposed to be how he became 007?

His chick was smokin hot!  ;)

I found it more of a "Back to Basics" type Bond movie, similar to the first ones ("From Russia With Love" is a good example. He has a couple gadgets, but they play a minimal role. Although I admit I did miss the usual head-butting between Q and Bond) and the humor, while subtle, is still there. The only part of the formula missing was that he wasn't hitting on Ms. Moneypenny.

My fave is when he sits back down at the poker table after nearly being poisoned and mutters, "Sorry about that. That last hand nearly killed me..."

I got bored with the whole concept after Thunderball. Except that I liked the one with the lady painted gold, had Odd Job in it. It was a good movie. Signed, James Bond Jr, age 12

Loved the new Bond. Daniel Graig is great, he has a real nasty streak to him which I liked.

I also miss the Drive In movie experience.

Any secret agent who can be tied to a seatless chair, starkers, with his wedding tackle hanging out, and then flagellated with a knot (or whatever) tied in the end of a thick piece of rope, and then tell his tormentor to tickle the other ball deserves a lot of respect.

Of course, it was all acted out for the film but still a scene to remember...

I enjoyed the film. I don't like the way that M has got all chummy with 007 in the last few films, to the point of calling him by his first name. I, too, missed Q and Moneypenny.

The bit where he rolls the Aston when he swerves to avoid the babe lying in the road suspends belief.  (Yes, I know it's supposed to be 'unbelievable'). Don't those six figure cars have air bags??

I got the first two boxed DVD sets of Bond films for Christmas. It's interesting to see how the franchise has changed over the years.

See also my poll.
