Slingshot Cycles?
« on: March 17, 2016, 06:37:39 PM »
Anyone know if http://slingshot-cycles.com/  is still in business?  Been trying to order some brake bleeders from them and the website appears to be busted for placing orders.  I'm also noticing that the last blog entry is from 2014.

They're still in business, just got a brake line kit from them. Maybe send a message? I got responses fairly quickly through e-mail.

Shawn makes great brake lines, but as a 1 man show, orders take time.

I buy my speed bleeders here...

I got speed bleeders for my GL1000  from the HELP display at NAPA. I think they're the same thread. Or not.

Hey Nayl,

Still accepting orders.  WHere in the process are you having issues on the website?  I know that if your AVS doesn't pass with the bank i reject the order.  So make sure you are entering your billing information correctly with the same address that the bank has on file.
Other than that, sometimes the USPS shipping estimator can be problematic. Is that where you are stuck?

I ordered a brake line kit for dual front brakes to my CB750 earlier this year from Slingshot. The website did not want to continue in the last step when paying the order, paypal or credit card same problem , error on page. I did it manually sending money thru Paypal after agreement.

When I go to the homepage and select Brake Hoses -> Honda, I land here and it shows nothing http://slingshot-cycles.com/products-page/honda/

Can we request an invoice directly from you?

I think USPS updated some of their plugin messaging and my shopping cart software/program is not longer being supported.  So that might have something to do with it.  I need to get another shopping cart program but i'm just so LAZY!!
The biggest hurdle is entering in 100 items with a handful of variations and prices that change based on it.  Then a couple images for each item....its a lot of work.

I'll start to research that later this month and see what the young folks say is the top shopping cart.  I'm so out of tough these days...

i just did a restore on the public HTML files and for the time being, it appears to be working.
WordPress is great until your cart or theme or a plugin stops working nicely with all the others.  Then you're stuck...

Let me know if you have trouble placing the order going forward.

update - i notice that there are still issues with the site even after i got the products to show.
It's a bit above my head so i'm going to throw up the maintenance page and try to see if a pro can help.  Sorry for the inconvenience everyone!
Just try not to use your brakes in the meantime ;)

Thanks for the reply.  What was specifically happening was that when I got to the payment page I would put in my card info, hit enter, and get a message asking me to choose a shipping type, but with no option for that on the  page (I had selected it on a previous page).  No worries, will hit you up once you get the bugs worked out.

We'll try, but you've spoiled us Shaun!  Whenever we think of brake lines, we automatically think Slingshot.

Is there an old fashioned way we can order 'til you get this issue ironed out?

Any Goldwing guys want a  Slingshot rear brake line?  I ordered lines for my GL front end and somehow Shaun did not get the message that I didn't need the rear.  The end fittings are pretty special and only work on a GL, I think, so I am unlikely to ever have any use for it.  Just pm me if you want it.
If it works good, it looks good...

I was just talking with Shaun about an order I have with him. I let him know that you guys were wondering about his service. He said he's been having a lot of problems with the functionality of his site which is based on Wordpress. He said he may have to just shut it all down & do a different build. He may not be up & running for a while. He has a couple of orders that came in recently before everything went nuts and he's going to get them out soon.

Disappointing to hear.  I'll need a custom brake line made soon once I get the Park Racer front end mounted, what are our other options?

There is a guy on fb that makes em and I have contacted him.  He has twice posted "send year and model info and I can make it"
If it's custom, you can't do that!

+1, I need me a set of lines that work with Renthal Low bars, even the stock Euro one won't work so I really need custom ones.
